Health and Hygiene (Pty) Ltd, a South African company was formed in 1994 to manufacture and market high performance antimicrobial and infection control products. All products are manufactured in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) facility independently audited to international standards. Quality Assurance is the keyword and is embedded into all facets of the Company’s systems and practices. In-house quality controls are supplemented by product testing carried out by independent accredited GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) laboratories for all products on an ongoing basis.

The product range which is focused on infection control and decontamination applications are sold domestically where in a number of sectors they are market leaders and international where they have established enviable reputations for performance. Generally the products are based on a novel formulation of core actives which have a quick kill, broad spectrum (bactericidal, fungicidal, virucidal and sporicidal) biocidal performance giving greater than a log 5 reduction in microbes but at the same time are safe to use.

The Animal Health Division serves the veterinary, companion animal and exotics owners and breeders, and commercial livestock farming in general, both domestically and internationally. The F10 disinfectants and treatment products are sold into these sector covering such notifiable diseases as Avian Influenza Virus (Bird Flu), FMDV, and Blue Ear to Aspergillus contamination in hatcheries, Airsacculites in ostriches, PBFD is avian housing, to ringworm in dogs and cats. A recent addition to the F10 animal health product group are the F10 Germicidal Wound Spray with Insecticide and the F10 Germicidal Barrier Ointment with Insecticide used in the prevention and treatment of fly strike wounds and blowfly maggot infecstaion

The Industrial Division serves the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and food processing manufacturing sectors, and specialist applications such microbiological and SPF laboratories. Both F10 and Bak-kler disinfectants are used in theses sectors. Of particular note is the F919 Degreaser/Cleaner which was specially developed to remove biofilm on hard surfaces.

The Agricultural Division is focused on environmental cleaning and disinfection of pack houses and spraying of post-harvest fruit using the Fitosan disinfectant range.

A recent addition in 2006 is the Air Quality Division which is directed to the HVAC applications. The F10 and F919 HVAC range are used to clean and disinfect equipment, coils, air spaces and ducting surfaces in building and automotive AC systems. These products have already out-performed previous norms when combating sick-building syndromes in hospital theatres and offices.
